Kirk's Day!

Kirk missed school Monday and Tuesday because he was SICK! He was so sad to be sick on his birthday (April 14th)! I took him to the Dr. to make sure he didn't have strep...he didn't! (Thank goodness!) They tested him for influenza B as well, he was fortunately negative with that too! He napped and vegged out all day and starting feeling better just as Daddy was heading home from work. HOORAY! Here is Kirk waiting to ambush his Dad with his new VULCAN nerf gun...it shoots little darts like a machine gun...COOL! this is the first time I saw this boy smile ALL DAY!

Daddy is ALWAYS such a good sport!

Earlier in the day Kirk told me he wouldn't be in the mood for birthday cake, so I decided I would make it another day, when he would want it. Well at about 5pm, he changed his mind, wouldn't you know it? So I threw his favorite cake together. It is birthday cake, GRANDMOTHER FAIRBANKS style! You can't go wrong with tradition!! This cake is a FAVORITE at our house!!

Yes, John was afraid of the sparkler candles..."Eecck, cake!" Wish I was afraid of cake! And here is a round of SILLY FACES in honor of Kirk's 10th birthday! We love you bud!

WOW!! I can't believe you are really ten! We are talking double digits dude, HOW CRAZY! My how the years have flown by...I always thought it was so weird as a kid, to hear grown ups say that to me...but it is true! TIME FLIES KIRKUS!

I just wanted to let you know that I think you are one AWESOME, HANDSOME, FUN, SMART, TALENTED, STRONG, KIND, THOUGHTFUL & LOYAL, KID!!

(I could go on and on and on...YOU really do ROCK Kirk!! ) I am so grateful to be YOUR MOM! Thanks for blessing me with giggles, smiles and constant adventures! I can't imagine how dull my life would be without you in it! "YOU'RE THE BEST" KIRKIE! I am sorry you were sick today and hope you start feeling better soon! WE WILL TAKE YOU OUT FOR RIBS TO CELEBRATE as soon are you are up to it!! EVERY ten year old boy must gnaw on some bones!! RIGHT? Happy Birthday buddy!

Oh John!

For at least six months, John requests gel for his hair and cologne for his neck EVERY time we leave this home of ours. The day, when OF COURSE, I was in a hurry, I found this... Look how proud he is...it was all I could do not to beat him! J/K!! It did take a while to get it all out though!! This is the best styling product for a guy, but a LITTLE goes a long way!! A LONG, LONG, LONG Way! It is like putty! What is a Mother to do?

Question for you...

Should I be offended or complimented by the fact that 9 out of 10 kids that come over to play with my kids POOP while they are in our home! Thank goodness, most of those children do make it to the bathroom! OH THE JOY of Having LITTLE PEOPLE around!

We are ready for potty training!

Okay, let me rephrase that...I AM READY FOR POTTY TRAINING! I hate potty training! It is not my favorite thing to do! But I am truly ready! I am ready for "big boy pants" and stopping at EVERY public bathroom known to man, and pausing my life every ten minutes to harass this child about using the potty! I am ready for poop free pants! I am ready to stop buying diapers! I am ready to dart out the door with just a purse! (a purse that doesn't hold diapers and wipes!)

I am prepared, I have bought all the neccessary tools for the job! WE ARE READY TO DO THIS!

Everyone but JOHN that is! Every time I mention, it throws him into a fit of hysterics!

Will this child every do ANYTHING easily? I have learned and am trying to accept that God has a sense of humor! HE IS LAUGHING AT ME!

John will only put on his "big boy pants" over his jammies...won't try them on without any clothes! He truly has a will of iron, if he is ever potty trained, it will be a FESTIVUS MIRACLE! GOOD DAY!
