We had a great morning and told the kids that we would do whatever they wanted to do...choices being: cross-country skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, 4-wheelin', snow ball fight, ice skating, snow shoeing or snowman building...guess what it was that they chose...SLEDDING!! I couldn't believe it and WAS DYING to go for a ski, but since it was all about the kids, I put my "big girl panties" on and we headed out to the sledding hill in the city park...here are some photos from our adventure...WE HAD A BLAST!!

A LONG WEEKEND? Hmmmm, whatever shall we do?
Rich and I were invited to a very special event in Ogden, Utah Thursday evening...my fabulous in-laws were awarded the WALL OF FAME award by the Ogden/Weber Chamber of commerce. The wall of fame is the "most prestigious award given by the chamber, which recognizes Rick and Karen for their extraordinary lifetime achievements and continual dedication to the Ogden/Weber County community."
We loaded up the Boise Bunch Thursday morning so we could be there that evening to honor my in-laws. Hannah watched the wild ones while we were at the Eccles Art Center. THANKS Hannah!
It was a lovely evening! They had a fun slide show presentation that highlighted my in-laws and shared some of their amazing contributions to their community.
I thought it was really neat to see Rick and Karen through the eyes of their peers and associates! They are amazing people and I am so proud to be their out-law! I knew that they give a lot of time to their community and that they volunteer left and right, but I had no idea much they have really done until I saw it all on paper! INCREDIBLE!! I don't know how they have found time to do all that they have done, PLUS raise three AWESOME kids AND work all these years! Pretty darn impressive!
I enjoyed seeing family and friends that we don't get to see very often, it was a great night!!
CONGRATULATIONS RICK AND KAREN!!
YOU ARE GREAT EXAMPLES TO ALL OF US!!
Thank you for letting us be a part of your special evening!
WE LOVE YOU!
Since we took the kids out of school to venture to O-town, we decided we had better make our journey worthwhile...we decided we should spend the LONG weekend in our favorite place...WEST YELLOWSTONE! We got up Friday morning and had a lovely breakfast with my sweet in-laws, Rich's Aunt Sue and Uncle Ron, from Rochester, New York, Rich's brother, Whit, from Dallas, Texas and my parents, who live in Salt Lake City, It was really nice. (THANK YOU once again, Rick and Karen!!) Then we threw the wild ones in car and headed to West! WAHOO!! We stopped for lunch in Idaho Falls and made it to the cabin around 4pm. We were all quite pooped from virtually spending the last 2 days in our van so we decided to lay low...it was a perfect plan!
The first order of business is of course to MAKE A MESS...check this out! It didn't take John long at all, he got right to it!
MY first order of business, after getting unpacked and settled in...ORDER PIZZA from the GREATEST PIZZA ESTABLISHMENT EVER...Wild West Pizzeria, if you ever get to West Yellowstone, Montana, you MUST try this pizza, it is amazing!
Here is my fave, the Calamity Jane-pesto sauce, ricotta cheese, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and FRESH tomatoes! YUM! Trust me folks, this pizza is THAT good!
Here is the rest of the fam's pizza! ha ha
Thank goodness everyone loves it as much as I do!
What would life be like without the Internet? We are so spoiled folks! AND THANKS for the great laptop Karen, WE LOVE IT!!
Oh and LOOK what Rich found when he went to turn on the WiFi router...
a MARSHMALLOW? Wherever could that be from? A MARSHMALLOW WAR POSSIBLY?
hee hee hee
That tiny little marshmallow could have taken out an eye!! It was as hard as a rock!
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to our Daddy!
Look what I have done to my son!
I gave up Diet Coke for four whole months and then fell off the wagon over the holidays...I have tried to give it up again, I will go for days, even weeks without one, and then in a moment of stress, I RUN FOR A DIET COKE! Why is it so difficult to give up? My kids are disgusted with me and act like I am a heroin junkie, everyone except John...he is as bad, if not worse than I am!!
CHECK THIS OUT!! I may end up in prison if anyone finds out!
